How to Use the NEJE Software?
Posted by Joey Weng on
What challenges did you face when you tried to use the NEJE software?
Many beginners feel lost with the interface and settings, so let’s walk through the entire process together in a clear, step-by-step way — almost like a friendly workshop tutorial.
1. Download & Install the Latest NEJE Software

2. Hardware Connection
Plug in both the USB cable and the power supply. You'll hear E40's fans spin and see the module light up.

3. Open the Software & Connect
Double-click the “USB Device”on the left sidebar. The machine will automatically home to the left corner and you will notice 'Homing' show up on your screen. Wait until it finishes — you’ll see the workspace appear.

4.Quick Tour of the Interface
On the right panel you have the most important tools:

- Online Image → ready-to-engrave pictures
- Online Vector → ready-to-cut designs (Can engrave outline)
- File → load your own JPG, PNG, BMP, or DXF
5.Adding Your Design — Three Easy Ways
①Use online resources
Click “Online Image” for engraving or “Online Vector” for cutting. One click inserts the design.

② Load your own image

Click “File” → “Load Image” or simply drag & drop JPG/PNG/BMP onto the workspace.

③Load your own vector

Click “File” → “Load DXF”.

Tip: If the DXF won’t load, open it in your CAD program and save as R14 or 2000 version or convert your dxf file.
6.Edit Images
Right-click any image → Edit:

You can Flip / Rotate / Mirror iamge here. And you can also choose processing mode:
- Grayscale → beautiful shades (photos)
- Dithering → classic newspaper look
- Black/White → Enhanced black and white contrast
- Edge→sharp lines
The preview updates instantly so you can see the result before burning. Drag the blue icons to adjust the mode.
7. Adding Text
Right-click empty space → “Insert Text”

- Type anything
- Pick any system font
- Choose “Outline” or “Fill”
8.Layer Order Matters!
Critical rule: Engrave first, cut last. If you cut first, pieces fall and the focus changes, and that might ruin your engraving.

Just drag layers in the list on the right: Top = runs first ,Bottom = runs last.
9.Recommended Settings
**Engraving (photos, text fill)**
- Speed: 6000–8000 mm/min
- Power: 60–80%

**Cutting (3 mm plywood, cherrywood, walnut )**
- - Speed: 200–350 mm/min
- - Power: 100%
- - Passes: 1–2 (set the pass on the layer)

Note: If you connect the air pump to the M8 or M7 port, you can turn it on.
10.Framing—Never Burn Outside Your Material!
Click the “Framing” button (bottom toolbar).

You can resize or move your design until the frame fits perfectly on your material.
11. Focus — The Make-or-Break Step
Set the right focal length for the E40 module
Quick method:
- Loosen the retaining clip
- Lower the module until the focus is at its lowest (observe through the goggles).
- Then tighten gently
12.Hit Start & Watch the Magic
Click the big green “Start” button.
The software uploads the job (usb connection takes a few seconds), then the machine runs completely offline — you can even unplug the USB after uploaded.

12. Sit Back and Enjoy
NEJE 5 will process layer by layer exactly as you ordered. When it finishes, it returns home .

Bonus Tips from Hundreds of Users
