SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Safety Precautions

Please read and understand all safety instructions in this manual before operating the equipment. Retain this manual for future reference.

1. Laser Radiation Warning

  • ⚠️ WARNING: Risk of Uncontrolled Laser Radiation.
  • This product is classified as a Class 4 Laser Product. Direct exposure to the laser beam will cause severe eye injury and skin burns.
  • Enclosure Requirement: This device is shipped as a Class 4 open laser system. Operators may construct a custom enclosure or purchase official NEJE enclosure kits to fully contain the laser radiation and fume extraction. When properly installed and interlocked, the system can be upgraded to meet Class 1 Laser Product safety standards.
  • Always wear the supplied OD4+ laser safety goggles when operating the machine without a certified enclosure. Never look directly into the laser beam or view it through optical instruments.
  • Do not remove any safety labels, covers, or protective housings from the machine.

2. Fire Prevention

  • ⚠️ WARNING: Risk of Fire.
  • Never leave the machine running unattended. Laser processing of flammable materials (e.g., wood, paper, fabric, acrylic) poses a significant fire hazard.
  • Keep a fire extinguisher (ABC dry powder or CO2 recommended) readily accessible near the machine.
  • Use a fireproof mat or metal backing plate under the working area to prevent fire from burning through the workbench.
  • Do not cut or engrave any materials with unknown chemical compositions.

3. Ventilation & Fumes

  • ⚠️ CAUTION: Hazardous Fumes.
  • Laser processing generates smoke and ultrafine particles that may be hazardous to your respiratory system.
  • You must connect an effective exhaust system (such as an exhaust duct or air purifier) to vent fumes outdoors. If using a custom or NEJE enclosure, ensure the ventilation system maintains negative pressure to prevent fume leakage.
  • Prohibited Materials: Processing PVC, Vinyl, or materials containing halogens releases lethal chlorine gas. These materials are strictly forbidden.

4. Electrical Safety

  • ⚠️ WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock.
  • Use only the original power adapter supplied with the device. Using uncertified power sources may cause fire or equipment damage.
  • Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded. Do not operate the machine in wet or damp environments.
  • Always disconnect the power cord before moving the device, performing maintenance, or replacing the laser module.

5. Operational Guidelines

  • Keep pets and children at a safe distance while the machine is operating.
  • When working with highly reflective materials (e.g., copper, brass, mirror stainless steel), apply a matte black coating to prevent dangerous laser reflections.
  • If the machine makes unusual noises, emits smoke, or shows abnormal laser behavior, press the emergency stop button (if equipped) immediately and disconnect the power supply.
