It can be used with plastics such as ABS and PS that contain whitening agents, pigments, flame retardants, light stabilizers, and structures containing benzene rings. The main principle is that the energy of violet light is strongly absorbed by these additives, triggering local chemical reactions - discoloration or thermal effects - foaming and slight ablation to form marks. On wood, it can achieve excellent grayscale engraving effects.
